Another book that we read in my work book club, and as I have read so many C.J. Box books, I was right at home in Wyoming. At first I did not like it too much, then I resisted finishing because it was making me nervous, but in the end I finished it just in time for our final discussion and found it a good read.

My rough notes (careful contains spoilers):

• The book takes more twists and turns than a freight train out of control careening down a mountain. And that is what we know is going to happen: a train wreck. But it keeps you on your toes because whose train is wrecking keeps switching.

• The more I read the more I definitely realize it is a commentary on American dream gone awry on greed and capitalism. Everybody’s saddled with college debt and nobody is enjoying life or even understands life other than just to make more money. A reoccurring theme is no one lives in the moment, rather are working for a future idea that they might not even live to enjoy.
